Toddlers

clownpuppet2croppedThe toddler at this state is becoming more independent. As independence is being established, the child needs to feel special and develop a sense of trust. Children at this age also begin to fine tune their foundation of cognitive, social, fine motor, and gross motor skills.

Toddlers are using their newly acquired language skills as well. Children use their verbal skills to describe what they see around them, to express their feelings, and to interact with their peers. Children also work toward sharing and participating in activities together.

Classroom activities include art, music and movement, cooking, stories, finger plays, block building, simple puzzles and manipulative toys, water play, and dramatic play.
